I will only be accepting serious, committed owners who will hold themselves and their dog to the highest standard. This program is is for those of you who want to give their four legged family member the best life possible while becoming a more confident and competent handler. During your dogs stay, he or she will be living in my home and are treated like one of my own dogs. I spend ample time with each training dog integrating them into my pack and training in a home setting, not a loud boarding facility. We follow strict safety protocols and your dog will be under 24/7 watch and care. Your dog will spend their time adapting to a healthy daily routine, learning and acquiring service dog level obedience while learning proper play etiquette. This develops a dog with a strong, stable mindset that no longer reacts out of fear and impulse, but clear directions and leadership from their owner.
Owners will not only learn how to maintain the training, but improve upon it. The 3 week program includes public access training and an obedience foundation strong enough to go on walks, store trips, off leash hikes or patio lunches with 100% reliability.
All commands are taught thoroughly ensure reliability near distractions like toys, food, people and my personal dogs, Atlas and Sammy. After our final lesson and 6 hours of learning and practicing with your dog, you will go home with a plan of improvement and an extensive go home guide, as well as a new found confidence in yourself and especially your pup. Once you establish a clear method of communication, remain consistent with your boundaries and take the necessary steps of incremental improvement, you can become the leader your dog needs. This is how you develop a true bond based on trust and leadership allowing for a relationship stronger than ever.
TRAINING
Lets Go - On & Off Leash - Walking properly on leash without pulling, barking, lunging or reacting/barking at dogs or distractions while staying safe and maintaining control.
Heel & Auto Sit - On & Off Leash Walk your dog with ease and confidence. “Heel” is our On-leash structured walk. Your dog is to walk directly behind your hip and keep pace with you. Your dog must sit when you stop walking and remain seated until given further direction. A strong heel command can massively improve your dogs confidence in themselves and their owner. Especially useful in public, around triggers or uncomfortable situations and environments.
Sitstay & Downstay - On & Off Leash - We teach an implied, extended Sit and Down command and proof your dogs ability to stay in the position by gradually adding duration, distance and distractions throughout our training sessions. A solid Down command is ideal for training your dog to be calm on command, taking your dog hiking, or at restaurant patios.
Place - A very functional and benefiticial command. Place tells your dog to go to their bed or cott, lay down and relax until given further direction. Include your dog in family time and strengthen their impulse control with this “calm on command” practice.
Come - Recall command. You now have the ability to recall your dog at any moment. Whether its around the house, at the park, or on a beach somewhere, you can keep your dog safe knowing you have a reliable recall and an unbreakable relationship with your dog.
Drop (If Necessary) - The drop command is very useful for dogs who refuse to release objects or toys from their mouth, making games like fetch or tug impossible to play. The drop command can be used to teach dogs proper give and take playstyle while keep our hands safe from getting nipped when playing with high drive dogs! :)
